| 内容記述 | We proposed the development of teaching materials and architectural education methods for structures using straws in order to help elementary school students understand the mechanism of earthquakeresistant structures “quickly,” “easily,” and “in a fun way. We proposed three methods for fabricating structures using straws. By devising a method for fabricating structures, we aimed to have elementary school students master the mechanism of earthquake resistance. Of the 15 elementary school students who participated in the workshop, 14 said it was interesting. The reason why it was interesting was that second and third-graders understood that “instability became stable,” while third- and fourth-graders understood that “the fourth connection at the contact point would stop moving. It is thought that the main purpose of this project was conveyed. We also thought it was meaningful to repeatedly experience the difference between stability with a straw structure and stability with a 1/10 scale model with a brace installed. |
