While craft was initially introduced into general education as a practical subject, development of children’s cognitive abilities, creativity and problem solving, are being emphasised in contemporary rationales for craft education. There is a need to identify effective ways of teaching design thinking, which is a mode of thinking in which people generate and develop their own ideas for making objects.
