| 内容記述 | The main causes of damages of sculptures placed outdoors include the deterioration caused by pollutants such as acid rain or automobile emissions, the wind and water damage caused by the change of temperature in the snowy regions, recent abnormal weather conditions, and the falling of thunderbolts. They were also damaged by the repeated major earthquakes. The sculptures placed in public space should coexist with their environment and be resilient to the environmental changes around them. Moreover, they should avoid doing any harm due to the damage because they are placed where many people pass by. I surveyed the present conditions of my own works from this viewpoint. |
