| 内容記述 | In Saint-Exupéry’s masterpiece The Little Prince , he let his hero say: “What I’m seeing is just a container; the really important thing is something invisible in this.” I cannot help remembering this word whenever I create installation works. I bundle up the miscellaneous information in mesh patterns, which is the symbol of each country, and call it a worldwide web. Is our contemporary society bound up by mesh patterns? I must be careful when I send my work to a museum because people tend to open up the bundle when it arrives. Once a friend of mine asked me jokingly, “Does it contain gold ingots?” That’s right. What is really important is the invisible gold. |
